Wanda, I’m writing in praise of Nikki Sue and King Tut: Nikki Sue, because she recommended the perfect variegated thread for my Kaleidoscope quilt; and King Tut for manufacturing this perfect thread! My quilt features a flashy fuchsia, pink, orange, and peach floral print, and is accented by two solid colors plus white. King Tut’s #922 “Harem” variegated thread has the right mix of exotic colors to blend in all over the busy print, and is a stunning standout on the solids. Thank you all so much!
Such a tremendous amount of work and detail went into this quilt. Our customer made this quilt using a mixture of techniques including applique, embroidery, patchwork, and paper-piecing from The Splendid Sampler book by Pat Sloan. Nikki enjoyed detailing and quilting each and every of the 100 blocks.
Dear friends at Heartbeat Quilting,
I just finished stitching down the binding on a quilt you recently quilted for me, and I thought I’d share a couple of photos. The quilting pattern is edge-to-edge “Star Spangled Banner” which was recommended to me by several on your staff. I’m glad I took their advice — I’m delighted with the finished results. Even though it’s all-over quilting, the outer borders of the quilt almost seem to have been custom quilted because of the way the light colored stitching stands out on the nearly solid navy blue border. ‘Great job! Thanks to everyone who had a hand in this work.
This gorgeous quilt comes was brought in for our custom quilter, Nikki, to quilt and came with pretty simple instructions. The customer said she loved feathers and also loved the thought of “fun fantasy” quilting. Her fabric placement was wonderfully well thought out and we think it turned out beautifully!
Good morning, Wanda and crew, The quilting you did on my batik quilt is sublime! Nikki suggested the perfect variegated-color thread for this colorful quilt, and it shows up beautifully on every fabric tone. And I especially like the Gypsy Feathers panto quilting pattern with swoops and circles. This quilt can be appreciated on many dimensions. Thank you all so much!
This is a pic of my quilt. It is all done and it feels elegant. Thank you for the wonderful quilting! I love the machine quilting done at Heartbeat. I agree on loving the binding, too! Thank you.
This gorgeous Kaffe Fassett applique quilt came to Nikki and boy did she have fun with it. The pictures speak for themselves. We hope to see a finished version, especially to learn how she will be mounting it to her wall as her headboard.
This baby quilt came with a challenge! Our customer provided us with some well thought out instructions, but also left some decisions up to us.
She wanted us to use the motifs in the printed fabrics for the block designs, per quilter’s choice. She wanted white for her top thread, but the coordinating thread color in the bobbin for each space. For instance, in the red blocks, we used a red thread in the bobbin and for the blue blocks, a blue bobbin thread. Those colors really pop on the white backing!
In the printed fabric blocks, we were to choose one matching motif to go in all. In the solid color blocks, she wanted to switch it and have a different motif in each. There were also 2 blocks that All blocks could be quilted in any direction. The border was completely quilter’s choice, but we were to use a motif for the blue sashing and one for the red sashing, but we couldn’t repeat those motifs in the large blocks.

This is modern double grace quilt. It was an idea that we all in the group help and enjoy to embrace the fun and bold colors in modern design.
